Meet Star who is a deaf and nearly blind shelter dog. She relies on her guide dog brother Denver and their bond is unlike anything we’ve seen before. They were dumped by someone among their mother and six other newborn siblings. Luckily a loving family found them and decided to keep the mom but asked an animal rescue center to find homes for the babies.
Star and Denver were still left to be adopted so they were passed onto Helen Woodward Animal Center to be given a second chance. The animal center discovered that Star had special needs, she was deaf and almost completely blind. The 3-month old Terrier blend was to use her other senses to navigate the world.
While the rest of Star’s littermates frolicked without her, her brother Denver kept a protective eye. They have a bond that is not seen before. Choosing Star as his main playmate, the two are rarely apart and when separated, Denver would come running back to love on Star and let her know he was there.
The pair is ready to be adopted and looking for their forever home – together. If you know someone who is looking for puppies in San Diego, then please get in touch with the Animal Center
