Albert Septien is a 76-year-old Vietnam War Veteran from Florida who has a stage 4 skin cancer (melanoma), believed to be caused from exposure to Agent Orange. When he discovered that he didn’t have long to live, he had just one last wish; to make a snow angel as he did as a little boy.
Tampa Bay community and his family came together to create over 8 tons of fake snow in his front yard. It took hundreds of bags and a team of volunteers to make create the snow. Once the vet saw the snow, he couldn’t help but cry and it was an emotional moment for everyone.
Over the years of the cancer treatment, Albert’s skin has been irritated with burns and laying down in the snow was something he really looked forward to. His family said they cannot explain the joy in Albert’s face after he played in the snow and how much it meant to all of them.
