Meet Kennedy Garcia, a girl with Down syndrome who doctors wanted to put in an institution as a newborn saying that she would live in diapers all her life and that she would not have the same quality of life as other children born with Down syndrome. She not only defied their odds but turned into a top model and even got herself a boyfriend.

Kennedy’s mother Renee, from Colorado Springs in Colorado refused to give up on her daughter who was just born different. Fifteen years forward, Kennedy proved every gloomy prediction to be untrue. She recently went to the homecoming prom with her boyfriend Matthew and even competed in state-wide dance competitions.

If that’s not enough, Kennedy is also a sought-after top model and already working with many clothing brands including American Girl and Justice Clothing. Kennedy is a fighter who also fought off leukaemia and underwent a dangerous surgery to stabilize her neck and spine. Now she makes her parents proud and proves that you should not always listen to the doctors!
